Splashy

Hello! I had time to create yesterday and made this fun layout! I started with this sketch from Scrap Our Stash:

My photos were different shapes, but I made them work with the sketch. I cut the patterned papers from various manufacturers and collections. Since this layout is about splashing in water, I did some mixed media on the background with some Picket Fence Distress Stain and white spray ink. I fussy cut the stars from another sheet of patterned paper to embellish the layout. I used my Cricut to cut the title. To embellish the layout, I used some irridescent gold star and dots of Glossy Accents to look like water droplets.

I am also entering this in the Lasting Memories challenge to use triangle.

Thanks for checking out my layout!

Winter Frolic

Hello! Well, it still feels like winter here, so why not one more winter layout? I combined a couple of challenges for this one. One of the Paper Issues challenges was to use mixed media, so I did some smooshing with grey and blue inks. Lasting Memories' challenges this month centered around shapes. The week two challenge was to use circles. I cut a bunch of circles from patterned paper and layered them behind my photos. I also found some circulare stickers to embellish my layout. The title is a mixed of a sticker from the collection and a Cricut cut. I finished off the layout with some sequins.

Making the Cut- Sketches In Thyme

Hi all! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Sketches In Thyme:

I had these sweet photos of my son getting his hair cut, so I arranged them on the page. I used a couple of strips of striped patterened paper down the sides of my layout and used scraps in coordinating colors (from several different manufacturers and collections) for the triangles. I stamped some splatters with Distress Oxide inks. For the title, I cut it using my Cricut. I finished off the page with buttons and a couple of stickers.

May Calendar Page

Hello! I have my May calendar page to share today! I started with the current double page sketch from Stick It Down:

I pulled out some PhotoPlay  and Bella Blvd. papers to work with because of their flowers and pretty  spring colors! We are still dealing with not-so-springy weather here in Minnesota, so it was fun to work with these colors. I followed the sketch pretty closely, but I did split a few of the photo spots to add more photos. I fussy cut a bunch of flowers from the leftover piece of the floral paper on the right hand page. I layered those over some Pink Paislee floral die cuts for my flower clusters. I found a chipboard alphabet tha had the needed letters for my title. To embellish the page, I used some stickers, gold ink splatters and light green Nuvo drops.

Dinosaur Train Party- Take 2

Hi all! I have a new layout to share, but some of the elements and photos may look familiar. I scrapped this event for my younger daughter's album earlier this month and now created a page for my older daughter's album. I was also inpired by this Paper Issues sketch

I started with kraft cardstock for my background. I wanted to add some interest so I had selected some brown and orange Distress and Distress Oxide inks to blend onto the background. When I was looking for blending sponges, I came across the sponge for white and decided to use a pebble mask and white ink over my browns and oranges. I really like how it turned out! I then added my photos. The title and embellishment cuts are the same ones I used for my other daughter's layout. I liked how they looked, so I figured, why not? I used a little washi tape under my title and behind my photos, along with a branding strip behind the photos. To embellish the page, I used those Cricut cuts, fussy c ut some presents and used some stickers and puffy stickers. I found a coordinating tag for my journaling and tied a bit of ribbon through the hole. This is a fairly flat layout, but I did use some foam tape to add a bit of dimension.

Birthday Cards

Hello all! I have some birthday cards I created earlier this week to share! I pulled out my "card kit" file to make these. That file has smaller pieces of collections that I've mostly used up, but are big enough for cards. They all have a very similar design- it tends to be my go-to! First up is a card for my niece who will be turning 6. I used a few different patterned papers and layered them together. For the flower element, I decided to make a shaker. I used my Cricut to cut the flower and then cut a circle from clear packaging to glue to the back of the flower. I created a circle with some foam tape and put a bunch of sequins in there. I may have filled it a little too full, because they don't move a whole lot, but I still like the look of it. I cut a banner and stamped the sentiment to finish off the card.

Next up is a couple of birthday cards from an old Basic Grey collection. I again layered some patterned papers on the background. For this card, I cut the flower from gold foil cardstock and backed the openings with different patternd papers from the collection. I left the out sections open so the background could peek through and add some dimension. I added the flower with foam tape. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and finished off the card with clear gems.

This final card was pretty quick and easy. I used the same collection as above and found this 3x4 card that coordinated and used it as my sentiment. I roughed up the edges a bit for dimension. I finished things off with a sprinkling of sequins.

Snow Love

Hello! I have a new layout to share today using a Rochelle Spears sketch and a Scrap with Stacy Tic Tac Toe challenge:

I used the sketch for the left hand page of my layout and then created the right side to coordinate. I started with the snowflake patterned paper that I spread across my navy background cardstock. I then used some purple and pink papers that coordinated with my daughter's coat. I used my Cricut to cut the snowflakes and a border punch for the top and bottom borders. I used Thickers and a chipboard word for my title. I embellished the page with stickers, pearls, puffy stickers and Liquid Pearls. I used the bottom row of the tic tac toe board: stickers, crystals/bling, and hearts.

Mother Daughter Date

Here is another layout I completed in the last few days! I received an order of new papers and embellishments on Friday and I was so excited to use some of them! I used the new Heidi Swapp Sun Chasers for the patterned papers.

I was inspired by this sketch from Paper Issues:

The paint strokes sheet of patterned paper was so pretty, I decided to use the whole thing for my background. I only had three photos (I used fewer photos, what?!) so I just moved the title up into the space where the 4th photos would be. I also didn't want to cover much of the background, so I used my sewing machine to make the large circle element. I splattered some gold spray ink around my layout for a little shine. I fussy cut the two toned circles from another sheet of patterned paper to embellish my clusters. I found some flower clusters from the Pinkfresh Life Right Now Floral Ephemera pack that had colors that matched my layout. I also found a few older embellishments that worked to add to the clusters. I cut my title with my Cricut from patterned paper and chipboard and layered the cuts for some dimension. I finished off the layout with some enamel dots.

Let It Snow

Hello, I've had some free time the last couple of days to complete a couple of layouts!

First up is a two pager I made using the double PageMap from October. I mixed and matched a couple of Echo Park Winter collections for this. For my title, I found the pretty "Snow" sticker and decided to build my title for that. I pulled out some cursive stamps and stamped the rest of my title. I put a few of my stickers on foam tape for some dimension. I finished off my layout with a scattering of sequins and pearl brads.

I am entering this in the Scrap Our Stash Tic Tac Toe challenge:

I used the left column- striped patterned paper, ribbon, and creative title work.

Dinosaur Train Party

Hello! I have another new layout to share. This one is based on one of the color challenges from Paper Issues:

I didn't have anything in my stash that was the burgundy color, but I found this dark purple that was pretty close. I had the patterned paper with the half circle waiting to be used and the colors worked so well with this scheme! I then pulled the orange from my stash to bridge the gap between the two papers. I put my Cricut to work on this one, cutting the title and the dinosaur embellishments. The title I adhered directly to my background. The dinosaurs I adhered with foam tape for a bit of dimension. (I am finding I am using less dimension lately- it helps fit more pages in albums!) The bottom right corner felt a little bare, so I pulled out some coordinating washi tapes and ran a few strips across the bottom of my photos block. I embellished the page with some shiny dot stickers, star rub ons, and sequins. I also used some bracket label washi tape to add my date and captions for my photos. I wanted to add a little oomph to my dinosaurs, so I filled them in with Glossy Accents.
