I Heart Faces February Photo Challenge: Days 22-28

Well, I made it to the end of the month! Very few (if any) of these photos were actually taken on the day of the prompt, but that is okay.  We didn't have much for big events or milestones this month, so this challenge made sure I took some photos this month, and I am grateful for that. I am going to try to continue by picking back up on the weekly scavenger hunt here.

2/22 Curled
... or not. They celebrated "I Love to Read" month at my daughters' school by having dress up days this past week.  On Tuesday, they were to dress up as a favorite character from a book.  Addy chose Fancy Nancy.  She wanted to have her hair curled with hot rollers, but decided they were too hot after I had two in... So no curls it was!

2/23 Window
Two of the older kids were playing outside and this guy was watching them out the window and "painting" the window with a dry paintbrush.

2/24 Strength
It took some hand strength to push the play dough through this toy.

2/25 Radiant
This girl got to go to a princess birthday party this week, complete with a real, live Rapunzel. While she was there she got her face painted with this crown. She came home feeling like a "radiant" princess (a stretch, I know).

2/26 Cozy
These two decided to create a nest in the living room with the pillows, blankets and animals from their beds.  It looked pretty cozy to me.

2/27 Get Low
Our youngest started speech a couple of weeks ago and the teacher has brought things for him to play with each week. This week, she brought a bin of beans with some other toys that bring with "b" mixed in. It is a small bucket so we have to "get low" to play with it (and to pick up the beans when Nick spreads them all over the floor).

2/28 Darling
I made smoothies for snack yesterday and the boys ended up with "darling" mustaches from eating them.

I Heart Faces February Photo Challenge: Days 15-21

2/15 His and Hers- These are the gifts Rick and I got for each other for Valentine's Day.

2/16 Shadow- A sweet little shadow

2/17 Story- My oldest reading a story to her younger siblings.

2/18 Up- My oldest building "up" some legos (okay, that may be a stretch...)

2/19 Surprise- This little lady lost her first tooth this week. "Surprise" could also work for the little photo bomber in this picture.

2/20 I Dream Of...- A sleeping baby! This kid did not sleep more than 45 minutes Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (two of those days it was less than 20 minutes). Saturday he finally made up for it with a 3 hour nap.

2/21 B & W- This is another shot from the day I took the "Story" photo. The captive audience. :)

February Photo Challenge days 8-14

I'm back with my second week of photos for the I Heart Faces February photo challenge.

2/8 Favorite- my boys snuggling, watching their favorite show, "Wild Kratts"

2/9 Clouds- The clouds themselves weren't very interesting today, but the snow coming from them was pretty. Addy had fun playing in it for a while this afternoon

2-10 Vintage- I went with a vintage style for the Valentine I made for Rick

2/11 Love is... letting this one use paint. wink emoticon It is also missing MOPS for a quiet morning at home so he could get some extra rest to fight the cold he has

2/12 Red- This little lady got her new glasses today, which happen to be... red

2/13 Walking- Will loves to pretend to be an animal, here he is walking like one

2/14 Heart- There is a heart in the picture and he has my heart

I Heart Faces- February Photo Challenge Days 1-7

At the beginning of the month, I Heart Faces posted this challenge on Facebook:

I've been wanting to get back into taking photos, and I figured this was the perfect opportunity.  I am also trying to get more comfortable with my 50 mm prime lens, so I will be using that lens as much as possible to take my photos this month. Here are my first 7.

2/1 I am... creative. There are lots of ways for me to finish this statement, but I was working on this today and so that is what I am going with.

2/2 Leap- Nick is really into jumping (and galloping) lately and I think it is pretty cute.

2/3 Sweet- the boys and I made brownies yesterday. When we were done, they had to lick the beater.

2/4 Words- the other day Will asked me to spell these words for him so he could make a sign. It is the first time that he has asked me to spell something so he could write it

2/5 Relax- Nick and I went to the zoo today and the gibbon looked so comfortable laying in the sun

2/6 Someone(s) I Love- The kids all decided to make their own Valentines this year, so we all gathered around the table and went to work this afternoon.

2/7 Laughter- One of Will's favorite games is "monster" where Rick chases him. The game results in lots of giggling and screaming.

I Heart Faces: Let Them Be Little

I couldn't pass up participating this week at I Heart Faces, I have 3 little ones after all! This photo is from the apple orchard a few weeks ago. Will LOVED the cats! He followed them and squealed every time he got close to one. I think this photo really captured his glee.

I Heart Faces: Let's Hear it for the Boys!

When I saw this was the challenge for this week, I just had to enter! I have hundreds of photos of my boy. Here is one from a few days ago. This is a rare shot because Will doesn't love to crawl in the grass and I just love the look of determination on his face!

I Heart Faces

I just found this really cool photography challenge site: I Heart Faces. They have weekly challenges and tutorials on photography and Photoshop. I am really looking forward to exploring this site some more and learning how to take the best photos possible! This week the challenge is "Best Face Photo of 2010."

I LOVE this photo I took of Addy at the Dakota County Fair. Her hair is a mess, but that is how it usually is. I just love how big her eyes look!
