All American Boy

Hello! I have another layout to share today. This time I was inspired by this older sketch from Stick It Down:

July 2017 single page scrapbook sketch #scrapbooking #sketch https://stickitdown.blogspot.co.uk/2017/07/july-sketch-reveals.html

I also used the Take 5 challenge from Paper Issues:

I made the photo area larger because I had more photos. I used my Cricut to cut the star piece down the left side. After I attached that, I splattered some red and white mists on my background. For my title, I found wood pieces that said, "all boy" and then cut the word "american" for coordinating paper. I painted the wood pieces with acrylic paint. After I journaled on strips, I embellished the page with some of the stars that were cut out with my Cricut, a few punched stars, and some sequins.

Happy Summer Days

Hello all! I am back today with another layout! This time I used some fun summer photos. Maybe I'm trying to ignore that fact that is is FREEZING outside, maybe I am trying not to think about the fact that I have two kids laying on the couch with fevers and another with a terrible cough, but I really enjoyed working with these sunshiny photos and colors! I was inspired by this fun, summery image from CSI:

I saw the hula dancer and immediately thought of the hibiscus cut I have on one of my Cricut cartridges. I cut those and the leaves using the Storybook cartridge. I added some shading using chalk (and some Distress Oxide ink for the yellow). The photos were already printed in this collage, so I worked around that with my patterned paper and embellishments. I once again pulled bits and pieces from different manufacturers and collections. I finished things off with some glitter glue and gold liquid pearls on the flowers and around the page.

Dance Your Heart Out

Hello all! I have a new layout to share on this first day of the month! Stick It Down held a crop this past weekend on Facebook, so I decided to check out those challenges for some inspiration. The challenge I chose for this layout was to use purple and any sketch from their archives. I chose this two pager:

I realized as I was looking for supplies for this layout that I don't have a lot of purple in my stash! I was able to find some cardstock and stickers that worked though. I also used some of the same patterned papers that I used for my other daughter's dance layout because I loved how the colors of the papers looked with the photos. The navy strip of paper was a sheet that I colored with some dark blue and purple spray inks to match my other papers. I pulled the embellishments from various collections to go with the layout.
