Happy Birthday

Hello, I have a new card to share. I started with this sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I was making a card for my nephew (named Oliver) and so when I found this cute owl card and thought of the fun pun, I went with that. I pulled some matching patterned paper and cardstock from my stash to make the arrow portion of the card.

I used an embossing folder for the blue cardstock for some interest and then splattered some coordinating brown mist on the piece. I stamped the sentiment on scrap white cardstock and wrote the rest of the sentiment in pen on the owl card. To finish off the card, I found some matching enamel dots and glued them in the top left corner. I was inspired by the current grid for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge ( I used the diagonal from bottom left to top right):

October Calendar Page- Stick It Down

Hello, happy weekend! I have my October calendar layout to share today! I based it off of the current double page sketch at Stick It Down:

This was a fun sketch to work with and a great way to use up the "strip" patterned paper that sometimes comes in patterned paper packs. I used those strips and also cut a few strips from some regular sheets of patterned paper. Since the strips were only 12 inches long and the diagonal is longer, I left a border around the page. I embellished my page with punched scalloped circles, buttons, stamped and fussy cut pumpkins, chipboard flourishes and grey and black pearls and gems. I printed my journaling of the computer and cut it into strips that I edged with black ink. I also used a few stamps on some of the scalloped circles. Instead of placing the journaling on the photos, I just stamped dates and added them to the photos.

Thanks for checking out my layout!

Tutu Cute

Hello! Family photography season is in full swing so my scrapbooking time has been taking a backseat. I was able to complete a layout though! I bought a bunch of papers from the Pink Paislee Bloom Street collection recently and I was excited to use them! I was inspired by a couple of challenges for this one. First up was this sketch from Paper Issues:

I made a two page layout, so I used the sketch for the left hand page and coordinated the right hand page. I cut and put down all those triangles and then decided I wanted something behind my photos. I did the smooshing technique with Worn Lipstick and Faded Denim Distress Oxide Inks. The colors blended beautifully to match my papers! To embellish my layout, I was inspired by the recipe challenge at The Studioinclude as many items as you can from this list on a layout.

Tags
A stamp
3 or more patterned papers
A Punch
Washi tape
Puffy stickers

I was able to use everything on the list except the puffy stickers- I just don't have many and the ones I have didn't work with this layout! I had a lot of fun pulling bits and pieces from various places in my stash. I finished off the embellishing with sequins in lots of sizes.

Thanks for checking out my layout!

Living Water- Sketches in Thyme

Hello, today I have a new layout to share! I started with a single page sketch and made a double page layout. Here is the sketch from Sketches In Thyme:

I modeled both pages of my layout after this sketch, flipping it for the left hand page. For my title, I used my Cricut and cut the words. The word "living" got pretty fine and needed a little help coming out of the paper, but I am so happy with how it turned out! I embellished my page with rub ons, white flowers and light green Nuvo Drops. I printed the subtitle and bible verse on vellum and then ran them through my Xyron machine to get even adhesive on the back.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my page!

Thinking of You- Stick It Down

Hello! I have a couple of cards to share that I made last week. First up is a sympathy card using the current card sketch from Stick It Down:

When I was looking for papers to use, I found an old grab bag/kit that I received a few years ago and decided to work with that. I pulled a few other coordinating papers from my scraps to fill in where needed. The small rose sticker came in the kit. I stamped and fussy cut the large rose in similar colors. I attached the large rose with foam adhesive for dimension. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in black. I didn't have a cardstock that matched the denim paper, so I used Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and blended it on the edged of my card front. I finished off the card with some light green Nuvo Drops.

I also made an anniversary card with the papres from the kit. This time I just made them fit together and worked from there. I stamped the flower on a separate piece of paper and fussy cut it. I then stamped the same flower on my card front and colored in the leaves to match the other colors on my card. The fussy cut flower was attached with foam adhesive for dimension. I finished off the card with a stamped sentiment and glitter ribbon.
