Project 365 Week 28

As I went through the photos this week, I realized that we did a lot of art projects. I think the reason was that we were dealing with some sickness so we laid low this week and... did art projects!

2/21 This was the result of the snow storm on Sunday into Monday- between 12 and 18" of snow! That's Rick cleaning the driveway.

2/22 Addy doing some watercolor painting. (Note the tongue out in concentration.)

2/23 We played outside today since the temps were around freezing. Here is a close up of Will's eye as he looks up to the sky.

2/24 The girls painting at ECFE. The theme was monkeys so they got to paint their own monkey. (Note Addy's tongue again.)

2/25 Ellie coloring in her big princess book. She has gotten pretty good at staying in the lines.

2/26 Sisters- It is so fun to listen to and watch these two little girls together- they are the best of friends!

2/27 Here's me trying to feed Will some pureed meat. He is NOT a fan!

We Are Family

I completed another layout!! This one I did for the Hybrid Challenge at Challenge Masters. The challenge was to use items that are a part of this month's Collect-A-Kit from Digital Scrapbooking Experts. We had to use some of the letters and one of the papers. I used the letters for the word "Family". I also went over them with Glossy Accents to give them a little dimension. I used one of the papers and cut it into strips and I used the ribbon on the title block. The shaped paper that I used was another free download I had.

I had quite a bit of the patterned paper left over and I had some coordinating scraps out, so I decided to make a couple of cards (I made 2 that were pretty much identical):

Finally, here is the layout I did for the Guest Design Team Contest at Back Porch Memories and the sketch that it was to be based off of. (I didn't get chosen this month, but I got a great layout out of the deal!) These pictures are from when my oldest got 3 stitches about a year ago.

Christmas Joy

I got another layout from Christmas of '09 completed! This one is for the family album. I used the February Blade Masters challenge at Challenge Masters on this one. The challenge was to use at least one kind of punch. I pulled out my much neglected star punch and punched stars out of the scraps from trimming the tree border across the bottom of the layout. I also used a mask and some Glimmer Mist to make the gold stars (you can't tell from the photo, but they are on both ends. Finally I did some freehand stitching with my sewing machine. I used more Echo Park on this one. I even used some of the packaging! In the front of the collection pack there is a sheet that shows the different patterns that are included and some of the stickers. The "Christmas" in my title was part of the title (Everybody Loves Christmas) on the collection pack!

Christmas in February

I have been working on my Christmas photos from 2009 and using Echo Park "Everybody Loves Christmsa"! For this layout I used the current sketch from Sketchy Thursdays and the color challenge at Challenge Masters. The color challenge at Challenge Masters was to use at least 3 of the following colors: medium blue, pink, red, green, and light blue. I used all of the colors besides medium blue. As you can see, I switched the title and journaling placement from the sketch because I thought they worked better this way with the pictures I had chosen and how they ended up on the page.

I also made this get well card for my grandma who just had hip surgery using leftovers from my "Summer '09" layout.

Project 365 Week 27

Another week of wild Minnesota weather!

2/14 Happy Valentine's Day! The girls and I made heart cookies. Ellie had fun frosting and putting sprinkles on the cookies, while Addy made me do the frosting and she just dumped on the sprinkles.

2/15 We went to see the Berenstain Bears at Toddler Tuesday. Ellie again didn't want to be a part of the group shot, but here she is watching the kid before us get his picture taken.

2/16 The weather was beautiful today! With a temp near 50 degrees we got out and played in the driveway and in the melting snow. Will had a great time sitting in the Cozy Coupe!

2/17 This is the Christmas stocking I am cross stitching for Will. I had hoped to have it done for his first Christmas, but that obviously didn't happen. Now my goal is next Christmas!

2/18 All three kids sitting on the chair in Will's room

2/19 It was State Dance Team weekend! I had the honor of running scores both days. I had so much fun, but I am a little sad the season is over now.

2/20 And here's where the wild Minnesota weather comes in. After temps near 50 earlier in the week, we got 12+ inches of snow. So much for seeing the grass!

Summer and Princesses

I got a couple of layouts done this week! The first I did for the Manufacturer Challenge at Challenge Masters. The challenge was to use 2 of these 3 manufacturers: My Mind's Eye, Graphic 45 and Core'dinations. I own no Graphic 45 (it's just not my style), so the choice was easy! I used a layout from the July/August CK as inspiration for this one.

I've had the chipboard pieces sitting around for a couple of months. Usually I go from the colors in the photos to select my papers, but for this one I went from the chipboard. I was very happy to find this Bo Bunny Alissa paper, the colors were perfect! Ellie had so much fun when we went to see Disney on Ice, I'm pretty sure it is what caused her current obsession with all things princess. She still talks about it and always calls it "Disney Princesses on Ice Skating."

Project 365 Week 26

I have reached the halfway point of my project! The time has gone quickly! This week I had trouble remembering to take my pictures during the day so I ended up taking several of objects.

2/7 Ellie and Addy at storytime at Wild Rumpus book store. What a cool place! They had several animals in cages throughout the store and a couple of cats and chickens that wandered the store.

2/8 Ellie and me. Ellie woke up with that sore Friday morning and didn't know where it came from! I am wearing the new glasses I picked up on Sunday!

2/9 It was nail day! I clipped and painted both girls' fingernails and toenails. Here are Ellie's freshly painted nails.

2/10 My new toy!! Rick found a deal on a Cricut Expression and all of these accessories on Craig's List. If this was the only experience I had with Craig's List, I would probably never do it again. It took a week for Rick and the woman to finally get a chance to meet so Rick could buy the stuff and the Cricut was missing part of its power cord so we are trying again to meet up with this woman to get the rest! Thankfully I have the smaller Cricut, so I have been able to use the part from that machine so I can use my new one!

2/11 The weather appears to be changing. It was 30.2 degrees at 8:24 pm!! We hadn't seen the temp in the middle of the day for weeks!

2/12 Addy looking at a book before bed

2/13 The weather was beautiful! The temperatures were in the mid 40's so we filled some spray bottles with colored water and colored the snow!
