Where the Wild Things Are

Hello! I have a new layout to share today! It's a two pager with lots of photos! These layouts always seem to take longer. It takes a while to figure out how to lay out the photos, how to tie the two pages together with the paper that I have and then embellishing! I'm happy with how this one turned out though!

I started with some kraft cardstock and the polka dot and stripe patterned paper. I cut the patterned paper into strips and outlined my layout with them. I matted my large photo with coordinating paper. I used some strips from the cut apart sheet to pull the large blank space in the center together. The title took me a while too, looking for the right letters and figuring out how to lay them out. "Where the" ended up being created using letter stickers and a triangle punch to create a banner. "Wild Things" was cut using my Cricut. "Are" is spelled out with rub ons. I also used my Cricut to make some animals to embellish my page. I finished things off with some stickers and enamel dots.

Stick It Down: Happy Birthday card

Hello! I have a new card to share today! I was inspired by this sketch from Stick It Down:
I needed to make a masculine card, so I started by using the square background stamp. I used Distress Oxide ink on blue cardstock for a fun effect. I then took a splatter stamp and added a few splatters in blue across my card. I made the circles using stamps and fussy cutting them. I attached them to the card with foam tape. I finished things off with a stamped and heat embossed sentiment.

April Calendar Page

Hello, I'm back with another layout, this time my April calendar page! As usual, I was inspired by the double page sketch at Stick It Down:

I pulled out a kit for the papers and found the glitter chevron paper in my stash. I cut the title with my Cricut and covered it with glitter glue to add some sparkle. I embellished the page with chipboard pieces, brads and glitter glue.

Renaissance Festival

Hello, thank you for stopping by! I have a new layout to share! This is for my oldest daughter's scrapbook and chronicles our trip to the Renaissance Festival several years ago. I was first inspired by the Get Messy challenge at Paper Issues, so I made some scattered polka dots with gelatos and a circle mask. I scribbled the gelato through the mask, misted it with water and then blended it with my finger. I then added my papers and photos. I fussy cut the butterflies from some patterned paper for The Studio challenge.. I curled those up a bit for some dimension. For the title, I found a banner chipboard piece and coated it twice with Picket Fence Distress Stain. I cut the letters using my Cricut. I decided once they were attached that they needed a little something to make them stand out, so I outlined them with blue sharpie and then added a border to my banner with the same marker. The embossed chipboard butterflies were coated with white gesso and then lightly pressed into Distress Ink. I finished things off with some stickers and sequins.

March Calendar Page

Hello! I am finally getting around to sharing my March calendar layout. I had it completed in time for the beginning of the month, I just never got around to posting it. I started with the February double page sketch from Stick it Down:

I made it work for a few more photos by dividing the photo areas on the right side into two. For the half circle ono the left, I decided to use a bunch of luck themed transparent die cuts that I have had for a long time. I layered in some wood pieces, buttons, and enamel dots with the die cuts. I worked from the colors of the die cuts and found some patterned papers to work with it. I printed my journaling on green cardstcok. I found the green and blue ribbon in my scrap jar and decided to use it on this page to draw attention to the title and the cluster in the bottom right corner. I finished things off with some splatters of spray ink and some gold shaped sequins.
