February Calendar Page- Stick It Down

Hi all! I have my calendar page ready to share with a couple of days to spare! I started with the current sketch at Stick It Down:

I stuck pretty close to the sketch, but I did turn the large photo on the right into a collage so I could fit more photos on my layout. I started by using a mask and spray ink to make the polka dot background. I then layered patterned papers over it. I used the "Crafting with my Gnomies" collection from Photoplay. I did take a scrapping weekend away last February, so I felt like I could use some of the scrapping gnomes on my layout. For my journaling, I used a combination of written journaling on the journaling card on the bottom and typed strips for the photos. I used my Cricut for the title and once again, cut it a few times from plain cardstock to give some dimension. I embellished my page with some die cuts, transparent hearts and puffy stickers.

Happy Easter- Scraplift

Hi all! I have a new layout to share! This time I was inspired by this layout for the one of the Scraplift Challenges at Paper Issues:

Since I had so many photos, I decided to make a two page layout and used the inspiration for my left page. I started by used some shimmery watercolors and painted an "egg" on the background. Once that was dry, I splattered some green spray ink on both pages. I used some patterned paper to tie the two pages together and then layered on my photos. I made my own tags to tuck behind my photos on the left page. I did some black stamping to play off the black and white flowers in the inspiration. I then layered some fussy cut flowers over that. The title is sticker, quick and easy! I did some captions on strips of cardstock and more journaling on a journaling rub on. I finished off the page with some puffy stickers, brads, and sequins.

Little Swimmer

Hello! I have another new layout to share! For this one, I started with this sketch from Rochelle Spears:

I added a couple more photos, but otherwise stuck pretty close to the sketch. I started by splattering some inks on my background cardstock. Once those were dry, I stuck the patterned papers and photos down. I used a combination of rub ons and my Cricut for the title. To embellish the page, I used some die cuts that came with the patterned papers. I also cut some banners for the top right corner. To finish things off, I used some enamel dots and pearls.

I also did the Scrap with Stacy Tic Tac Toe challenge:

I did the diagonal from the bottom left to the top right (the date stamp is above the photos).

First Grade Happenings

Hi all! I'm finally caught up posting my projects! Here is a layout I created the other day using this sketch from Paper Issues:

I had four photos to work with, but this sketch worked well to adjust to use all of them. I started by smooshing dark blue watered down ink on my background. Once that was dry, I splattered the yellow. I battled my Cricut a bit to get those blocks of patterned paper with the tabs to include the word and heart, but we figured it out and got them to cut. I also used my Cricut to cut the title. I layered up the "1st Grade" for some dimension. I found some circle journaling spots that had numbers on them, but they worked otherwise, so I used stickers to cover the numbers and make them work with my layout. A cute little school bus sticker and some puffy stickers finished off this layout.

Kid Cards With Fun Backgrounds

Hi all! I'm back with some more cards to share today! These are all for kids and I used a few different techniques for the backgrounds.

First up, I used a embossing folder on this two toned background. I wanted to use some scraps, and I didn't have a wide enough piece of either color, so I split the background with two colors. I attached each piece to a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of cardstock so they would make one solid piece before running it through the embossing folder. The boy and snowflake die cuts are by Simple Stories, I thought they were fun for a winter birthday. For the sentiment, I stamped, ink blended and fussy cut the banner. I added some blue ink splatters to the backgound to bring the two halves together and finished off the card with some blue pearls.

For my next card, I wanted to use the cute bear and balloon stamp, so I decided to create a sky with some ink blending. I had a scrap from a cut file that had uneven scallops that I used as my mask and I went to work blending blue ink over them. I then stamped the sentiemnt on the background. I stamped fussy cut and colored the bear and balloon. I found a chipboard 1 to put on the balloon for my niece's 1st birthday. It was a little long, so I had to trim the bottom part of it to get it to fit. I finished off the card with a mat that matches the balloon and some sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Finally, I used a background stamp on this card. I also used a ombre ink pad to ink up the stamp. I stamped on grey cardstock. I used my Cricut to cut the ball and sentiment from gold foil paper. I also blended some blue ink around the edges of the panel to help them blend with the background stamp. Once the die cuts were attached, I finished off the card with some washi tape and gold irridescent stars.

Happy Birthday- Sketch Saturday #717

Hello! I've gotten a little behind with sharing my projects, so I will be sharing a few over the next few days. First up is a pair of cards I made based on this sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I started by dry embossing a green cardstock panel for my background. I then stamped my image on watercolor paper with Archival ink. I colored the image with Distress Inks and a water brush. I stamped and fussy cut the clouds and leaves. Once the painting was dry, I laid the panels on the background and decided it needed a mat, so I used some dark brown mulberry paper. I added the sentiment to the panel and then attached everything to the front of the card.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card!

Sunday School- Stick It Down

Hello and happy 2023! I have a new layout to share today! I started with the single page sketch from Stick It Down:

I started with the light blue wavy paper and then found some other papers to coordinate with it. Most of the paper are from the Pebbles Peek a Boo You Boy collection. I fussy cut the waves that were already printed on the light blue paper. For the dark blue paper, I just free handed the waves. I added the participation certificate that he received at the end of the year. I cut the title with my Cricut. I cut the shadow cut three times from white cardstock and layered it for dimension. I embellished the page with stickers, a circle cut from a 3x3 card and some pearls and gems.

Thanks for checking out my layout!
