It is the first Monday of the month which means a new challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles. This month's challenge is about new experiences in our lives:
For this month’s main challenge we would like you to share a project that represents something new in your life. You can reflect on a new relationship, a new phase of life, an event that brought change into your life, a new job, hobby, volunteer opportunity, or even a book or Scripture verse that has given you new insight. God blesses us with everyday miracles - sometimes big and sometimes small - that bring change and new opportunities to our lives. Your project doesn’t need to be about a recent event, but needs to represent something new in your life.
SCRAP TWIST: USE SOMETHING ON YOUR PROJECT THAT IS MORE THAN A YEAR OLD - THE OLDER THE BETTER, "AND" SOMETHING NEW TO YOU IN 2013. These supplies may be purchased, given to you, or even found objects. Be sure to tell us in your project blog post what these supplies are.
I decided to scrap my older son's birth announcement because he made me a mother to a boy! I didn't realize at the time how different he would be from the two girls, but now, 2 1/2 years later, I know! He is just so much more energetic than the girls, and that energy can be almost too much sometimes, but he can melt me with his adorable smile.
For the scrap twist, I used some new washi tape I bought about a month ago and some Heidi Swapp chipboard pieces. For the old, I used some older yellow chipboard pieces that I've had for several years and the birth announcement which is from 2 1/2 years ago. :) I used sketch #260 from Nuts About Sketches, because I didn't get a chance to work with it when it was revealed at the beginning of April and it worked with my birth announcement.
Make sure to head over to the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog and check out what the rest of the team did, there are some great layouts! Make sure you play along too! ;)
