Happy Birthday- Card Layout

Hello and Happy President's Day! I have a layout to share today!

First I was inspired by this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

I am always looking for new ways to display cards in my scrapbooks and I thought this sketch would work well for that! I had the photo of my kids and I and went from there. I also flipped the sketch horizontally because I was working with scraps and that was the way it worked best. The other challenge that inspired me was the current challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge:  February you may use one full sheet of paper only, and all other pieces of paper in the layout must be from your scraps. One embellishment must be leftover from a package where you have used your favourite embellies from it already, and have not found a use for the one you choose yet.

The only whole sheet of paper I used was the background cardstock. The rest were scraps, many from this layout. I have a couple of embellishments that were "left over." The red and yellow tag behind my photo is from and OLD Basic Grey collection that I only have a few tags left from. The chipboard buttons are from a pack of Studio Calico buttons that a lot of the colors have been picked over. I used an embossing folder on some Core-dinations cardstock for the top right to mimic the paisley patterned paper in the bottom left. I cut the title and balloons with the Cricut and outlined them in black to make the stand out a bit. I realized after I uploaded the photo that I meant to add some journaling to the page, so I will go back and do that. :)

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout!
