January Calendar Page

Hello!  I have my January calendar layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Stick it Down:

Fun, right? I had picked up several new supplies in November from the October Afternoon Warehouse sale and from My Scraps and More and I used this opportunity to pull some of them out.  I started with the dot paper by October Afternoon and pulled my colors from there.

I was inspired by the cloth brad to use gold on my layout.  I edged my papers with gold paint and used some washi tape with gold stripes. It is hard to see here, but I also sprayed a bit of gold Glimmer Mist on the canvas pieces.

I used some phrase die cuts and gem die cuts to accent my page. The give the gem die cuts some dimension, I used some foam adhesive to lift them off the paper and then put some Glossy Accents over the top.

For the title, I used my Cricut and the deep cut blade to cut some chipboard. I'm still figuring this one out because I ended up having to cut through the bottom layers of the chipboard with a scissors. I painted the letters gold to match my accents.  To draw a little more attention to the title, I used a bit of tape and some brads.

The Free for All Friday challenge for 1/2 at My Scraps and More was to use some of your newest stuff, so here it is!
