I made a couple more cards this week for birthdays. First up is a card for my mother-in-law's birthday using this month's card sketch from Stick it Down:
I used some Pinkfresh Studio washi tape. I used a black card base because I love how the bright colors and gold contrast with the black. I attached a strip of light blue vellum over that. The flower and scroll design was cut using my Cricut and the Holiday Cakes cartridge. I cut it in a tan color and the shimmering pink. I went over the tan part with some gold acrylic paint to make it match the gold on the tape. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on black cardstock and then mounted on the shimmery pink.
I made this card for my son who turned 2 this week. The train was cut with the "New Arrival" cartridge, and the "2" with the "Boys Will Be Boys" cartridge. I have still have some mulberry paper, so I used a water pen and drew my hill and tore the paper along that line. A quick punched scalloped circle and a stamped sentiment finished of this card.
Love your black birthday card! The shimmer accents work perfectly against the black. Thanks for playing along with us at Stick It Down!
