I Just Wanna Be Happy

Hello again! I have another layout to share today! This one started with this sketch from Sketches In Thyme:

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the right to make it work with my photos. I found a bunch of papers with the right corally pink color and cut them into strips. I then found a glitter cardstock that was the perfect color to go with the costumes so I used the to mat the individual photo and give me a place to put the title. I cut the title with my Cricut. To embellish the page, I splattered some ink and used die cuts, stickers, washi tape, puffy stickers and polka dot gems.

Photo Booth Baby

Hello! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Paper Issues:

I had square photos from a photo booth for this layout, but I made them work with the sketch. I used a cut file for the background. I then used some patterned paper for the banners on the right side. I cut the words "Photo Booth" and the panel behind it using the Cricut. For the word "baby" I stamped and heat embossed the letters on vellum and then fussy cut the word. I used some stickers, die cuts, and glitter washi tape to embellish the page.

More Cards!

Hello! I have made a few more cards in the last week or so. First up is a pair of cards based on this sketch from Stick It Down:

I received the Concord and 9th Merry Mix stencil pack for Christmas and finally put it to use on these cards. There are two stencils in the pack that you can use to create a plaid pattern, one with a wide stripe and one with a narrow stripe. I started with those on a light blue cardstock for my background. I also received a set of nesting postage stamp frame dies for Christmas, so I used a couple of them to create the frames. I cut a circle and stamped it with the cupcake stamp and edged it with the darker purple ink used on the background. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on the strips and attached it to the layout. To finish off the card, I used a scattering of paper sequins and some irridescent Stickles for "frosting' on the cupcake.

I used another of the masks on my second card. This time it was a snowflake background. I used a foam blending tool and white pigment ink with the mask and heat embossed the masking with Nuvo Pearl Luster embossing powder. I stamped the little people on white cardstock and colored them in with mettalic markers. I used my Cricut to cut the balloon and found an old set of Thickers and used the 4 for the age of the recipient. For the snow, I found a scrap of white cardstock and embossed it with an embossing folder for some texture. I piece of embroidery floss and a stamped sentiment strip finished of this card.
For my next card, I used the largest postage stamp die. I also got creative with the other dies I had received, which were Christmas themed. I used the shadow and outline tree die, using the insides of one of the trees as well. One of the sets included the sentiment "Happy Holidays", so I used just the "Happy" and stamped "Birthday" on my background, which was created with the Concord and 9th Marbled Turnabout stamp.

My final card was for my son who turned 13 last week. I had purchased the circle sentiment on Design Space a few years ago when my older son had turned 13, so I started with that and figured out a way to bring in one of my son's interests- video games. I used a game controller and computer monitor cut. for the monitor, I cut the frame twice from regular black cardstock and once from shimmer cardstock to give it some dimension. I created the "screen" part by using a marker and my Cricut to write the words "Level Unlocked". I adhered the sentiment and then used a gold marker to make the rays. For the background, I stamped the stripes with a stamp inked up with an ombre pad. Then I ran the piece through an embossing folder for some added dimension and interest.
The funny thing about this last card is that my son got a homemade card from my mother-in-law with all the exact same words and a video game controller too!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo

Hello! I have a new layout to share! For this layout, I started with this sketch from Rochelle Spears:

I started by pulling papers that coodinated with the color of the costumes in the photos. The background cardstock at the dot resist already printed on it, so I went over that with a matching blue ink and a blending brush. I cut the patterned aper and striped acetate into the two banners for the center of the layout. I had glitter cardstock that matched the costumes perfectly, so I used that to mat the photos. I created a tag from another piece of patterned paper. I cut my title from gold foil cardstock using my Cricut. for embellishments, I used some rub-ons, stickers, a fabric flower, a button and some gems.
In addition to the sketch by Rochelle Spears I also played along with the tic tac toe challenge:

I used the center row: two photos, flower, and acetate.

Fabulous

Hello, I have one more layout to share from over Christmas. For this layout, I started with this sketch from Paper Issues:

I decided to turn it into a two page layout by flipping the sketch horizontally to make the second page. I started by using a hexagon mask on my background because I didn't was to cut a ton of hexagons. I did cut the big hexagons and some small hexagons with my Cricut. I layered the small ones over spots in my inking to add some interest. I stitched around the large hexagons for some texture and interest. To embellish the page, I used some die cut butterflies, stickers and fussy cut some speech bubbles from a sheet of patterned paper. At that point, I decided I wanted a few splatters around my page. As I was creating the splatters, I knocked over my bottle of spray ink! That is why there is a large splotch of ink in the center of my layout. After I had calmed down from being frustrated with myself for knocking over the bottle, I consulted my family (including the child whose book this is going in) and we decided that the large splatter looked okay and I didn't need to start over. I added a few more larger splatters to make it look a little more intentional. I will eventually replace the two photos the got ink on them, when I get them reprinted.

Sparkling Diamonds

Hello! I took some time over Christmas to do a little scrapping, so I have a couple of layouts to share! For my first layout, I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I pulled out these dance photos for my daughter's book. While one was vertical, I made it work with the sketch. I found some patterned papers that went with the costumes. I was pretty excited to find I had a sheet of shimmer cardstock that matched! I adhered all of the papers and photos and then went to work on embellishments. I didn't have any diamond embellishments, so I used my Cricut to cut them from silver glitter cardstock. I used some paper sequins cut from specialty cardstock. I cut the title and the banner for the title using my Cricut as well. I used a flocked journaling spot and some stickers to finish off the page.

Last Cards of 2025

Today I have a few more cards to share from the end of 2025.

First up is an anniversary card. I created the background by using an embossing folder. I used a blending brush on the indented snowflakes. I then rolled ink onto the background with a brayer to make the snowflakes stand out. I cut the birds with my Cricut from silver foil paper. I stamped the sentiment of on a strip of cardstock and added a silver sparkle strip of cardstock to finish it off.

My next card also used an embossing folder. This time I rubbed the raised parts of the folder with ink. I misted the ink a bit to make it transfer better. It resulted in the transfer being a little messy, but I thought it looked okay anyway. I cut the ball and pins with my Cricut and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

Finally, I have a first birthday card. This one was pretty basic. I stamped the banners on the background. Then I stamped the giraffe on some scrap paper. I colored everything with markers. I fussy cut the giraffes and the roller part of an extra one and adhered them to my card front. I used the Cricut to cut the number 1 and added it to the center car. I finished things off with a sprinkling of gold foil stars.

Stick It Down cards

Hello! I'm back today with cards I made using the Stick It Down card sketches from December and January. First up is the December sketch:

I started by cutting the circle background using my Cricut. I covered the front of my card base with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink by dragging the inkpad over the paper. I cut the circle from kraft cardstock and stamped the deer. I used watercolor pencils to color the deer and add the clouds. I didn't blend them with water, I liked the look of the pencil strokes. I finished off the card with a printed sentiment strip.

Next up is the January sketch:

I got a set of masks that create a plaid pattern, so I started with those on my card front. I also got a Big Shot and some dies for Christmas, included a set of postage stamp nesting dies. I used those dies to cut the frames. I cut my cirlce and stamped the cupcake. I also stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it. Once those were all added to the card front, I added some Stickles to the cupcake and a sprinkling of paper sequins (also a die set I received for Christmas) finished off the card.

January Calendar Page

Happy New Year! I have my January calendar page to share! I started with this sketch from the Creative Memories Crop group on Facebook:

I needed to fit more photos on my page, so I split some of the photo spots and added a photo to the right hand page. I used my Cricut to cut the borders and title. I used printed chipboard, stickers, metal rimmed stickers, and enamel dots to embellish my page. For the journaling, I did a combination of photo captions and a paragraph on the bottom of the page.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my page. I should have some more posts in the next few days with some cards and scrapbook pages I've done over the last few weeks!
