VBS

Hello all! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I had this large photo collage waiting to be scrapped, so I decided to use this sketch with it. This is a great sketch to use up scraps, which is what I did. I started with a collection and found a few papers to go with my photos. Then I realized I need more papers, so I started digging in my stash of scraps. There are several different manufacturers' papers on this layout! Once I had all my papers down, I added my photo collage. I used punch out letters for my title and adhered them with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension. I used some stickers and puffy stickers to embellish my page.

Family Love- Stick It Down

Hello! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Stick It Down:

I started by brushing some shimmery watercolors over this cardstock with a flower resist. While that dried, I cut to the word "Family" using my Cricut. I attached my photo and title and then dug through my stash, looking for stickers and die cuts that coordinated with the colors of my background and photos.

This photo is from a professional session we had for our church directory. We also received 8 proofs from this session, so I used a divided pocket page to display them with the page above. Here is the first side:

And the second side. I used a few different patterned paper and cut them into 6x6 squares. To embellish each section I used a bunch of die cuts that coordinated with the colors.

Happiest Wishes

Hello all! I have a new card to share today! This one was inspired by a couple of challenges. First up is the card sketch from Stick It Down:

I was also inspired by the board at Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I used the bottom row from the chart: Alphabet, Birthday, and Enamel Dots. I started my card by stamping just the balloons from the Simon Says Stamp Happiest Wishes Stamp set with Versamark Ink on watercolor paper. Then I heat embossed them with black powder. I then used watercolors to paint the balloons different colors. While those dried, I stamped, heat embossed and painted the little puppy hanging from the green balloon on some scrap watercolor paper. I fussy cut that once it was dry and attached it to my card front with foam tape. I used some "enamel dots"- the big ones are melted Perler Beads and the small ones are leftover gems from Diamond Art. I then went through my stash and found number stickers that matched the colors of my balloons and added "5's" to some of the balloons since this is for my nephew's 5th birthday. I finished by attaching the panel to an orange card.

Just Keep Swimming

Hello! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Scrap Our Stash:

I was originally going to make the sketch the left hand page of a two page layout, but once I had the photos laid out, there was a lot of blank space, so I started to play with them on one page. I ended up liking that idea, so I went with it. As you can see, I kept many of the elements of the sketch, I just added four more photos. I started with the Cocoa Vanilla striped paper and found some coordinating papers. For the sun, I used a circle mask and blended Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink (my blending brush had some green in it, so it changed the color of the ink a bit). I then used some banner stamps to create the rays from the sun. I wanted the true Fossilized Amber color in the sun, so I found a texture stamp and stamped that over the circle mask. For the title, I found a cut file on Cricut Design Space. To embellish my page, I used some Elle's Studio stamps, stickers, ribbon, canvas flair, and enamel dots.

Happy Birthday

Hello, I have a new card to share today! I made this one for my nephew who just turned 15. He hopes to be a police officer, so I decided to go with that theme and found a cut file that looked like a badge. I cut the file using silver foil cardstock. I tried to get the words to write, but I was having trouble getting it to line up right, so I decided to just cut the letters. These were tiny, so attaching them was a bit of a challenge! For the background, I stamped and heat embossed the herringbone background stamp on black cardstock.

This was a pretty simple card, but I like how the different textures added some interest.

Frozen Dance Camp

Hello all! I have a new layout to share! I started with this fun sketch from Lasting Memories:

I ended up using this as the left hand page of a two page spread. I had these fun photos from a camp my daughter did 9 years ago. I started by finding some papers that would work with the colors and theme. I used a Simple Stories winter collection for the snowflakes and flower motifs. I started by cutting the strips and photo mats. I then decided I wanted some die cut snowflakes on my background, so I used my Cricut for that. I also found the fun snow palace cut, so I used some papers that matched my layout to creat that. I went online in search of the right font for my title. The free font that I found that matched the font used for the movie was called "Ice Kingdon." I used my Cricut to cut the file. After laying it out, I wanted the word "Frozen" to stand out more, so I decided to cut the shadow too. I then went to work embellishing with the snowflakes I cut, snowflake die cuts and chipboard from the collection, and a couple of sticky "brads." I wanted a little more interest in the background, so as I was working, I decided to stamps some white snowflakes as well.

Thanks for checking out my layout!

Caution Kids at Play- Lasting Memories

Hello! I have a new layout to share and it is bright and colorful! I started with this fun sketch from Lasting Memories:

I adjusted the photo spots a bit to make it work with the photos I had- instead of four down the side, I used three vertical photos and and flipped the horizontal single photo spot in the center to vertical and used two photos. Since the photos are from the Children's Museum, I wanted a playful feel to my layout. I pulled out this set of patterned papers with the primary colors and selected a few for the background. For the words and icons around the larger photos, I fussy cut them from a sheet of Shimelle patterned paper. I attached some with regular adhesive and some with foam adhesive. The title was cut using the Cricut. I finished off the layout with a epoxy flair, puffy stickers and tiny gems. My kids all did Diamond Art pictures and I said I would take the leftover gems to use on layouts. :)
