Lasting Memories Week 4- Patterned Paper

Hello! I am back with  my final layout for Lasting Memories. This week the challenge was to use at least 5 different patterned papers.

Three of the papers are pretty easy to spot on my layout. The yellow diamonds across the bottom are from a sheet of borders, and the three trees and teepee cards are from a sheet of 3x4 inch cards. I had fun layering the papers on this one. I made the bug using my Cricut. To make the trail for the bug, I pulled out my sewing machine.

I had a great time guest designing at Lasting Memories, this month's challenges were so much fun!

Lasting Memories Week 3- Rub Ons

Hello! I am back with my latest layout for my guest design team spot at Lasting Memories. This week's challenge is to use rub ons. I started this layout by selecting the photo and then going through my stash of rub ons and selecting ones that I thought would work. Normally, embellishments are last in my process. I then found paper that would work with the colors I was going for. I found this patterned paper and then went to work building my page. I added rub ons, stickers, corrugated die cuts, brads and wood veneer pieces.

I was inspired by this month's sketch at The Studio. I flipped it horizontally to work with where the clouds were already printed on my patterned paper.

Graduation cards- Stick It Down

Welcome to the weekend! I have a couple of cards to share today for some high school grads. I was inspired by this month's card sketch at Stick It Down:

I have been loving the beautiful results I get from using alcohol inks on vellum, so that is the technique I used here for my backgrounds. Since both graduates had schools with navy as one of their colors, I started by inking the vellum with navy (which was actually a mixture of a bright blue and black alcohol inks. I then cut the larger piece in half and went back and added some silver to the one on the left and gold to the one on the right. I made banners from coordinating paper and then stamped and heat emboosed the sentiment. I stamped and heat embossed the images on navy cardstock and fussy cut them. The flower for the card on the looked a little small when I put in on the card, so I took another stamp from the same set and stamped and heat embossed a larger flower directly on the card and layered the smaller one over it.

Father's Day- CAS(E) this Sketch

Hello! I have a card to share today in preparation for Father's Day on Sunday. I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I started this card by using glossy cardstock and alcohol inks to make the plaid background. I layered vellum over that so you could still see the pattern. I added the leaf stamp around the circle using my Stamping Gear. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and mounted it on a punched scalloped circle. I attached that to the card using foam tape to add a bit of dimension.

Best Wishes- Fusion

Hello! I'm back with a card to share today. I was inspired by the current challenge at Fusion:
I started with the colors and found some stamps that reminded me of the flowers in the inspiration photo. I stamped and heat embossed the flowers on  white cardstock. I used a marker to color in the roses. I loved the white on white and dry embossed a piece of white vellum for my background. I also cut my sentiment using my Cricut and then heat embossed it with glitter embossing powder. I layered all of my pieces with some glitter cardstock and washi tape to create the card.

Cherish- Lasting Memories Guest Designer

Hello all! I'm back again with a layout for week 2 of my time as guest designer for Lasting Memories. This week's challenge was to use stencils and texture paste. I haven't used my texture paste in a while, so this was a good challenge to get it back out. I just have white paste, but I colored it using spray inks to make the  three colors you see on my layout.

I used a popsicle stick to spread the paste through a mask. I tried to move pretty quickly so the paste didn't dry on my mask. After it had dried on my layout, I added the patterned paper and photos. I finished off the page with some die cuts, tape, stickers and buttons. For the title I used a white chipboard word. I decided to paint it green to bring a little more green into my layout.

Here's a close up of the paste. You can see it adds some fun texture and color to the page.

Birthday Playdate- Lasting Memories June Guest Designer

Hello! It's been a while! As you may have guessed, we welcomed our newest family member. I will be sharing more about him very soon! Today I'm sharing my first layout for my guest designing position at Lasting Memories this month! The theme for this month is "Stash Busting" which I love! This week's challenge is paints/mists.

I used the plastic packaging technique for this layout with some ink that matched the patterned paper I used across the bottom. I layered the color which resulted in some nice variation in color. I used a lot of die cuts and stickers to embellish this layout. For my title, I used a combination of letter stickers and a Cricut cut. A few enamel dots finished off the layout.
