Case This Sketch- Birthday Card

Hello again! I have another card to share today, this time a birthday card. I started with the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I made this masculine birthday card. I used pine needles and pine cones because I felt they were fitting for a winter birthday. I started with dark brown ink, then dark green, medium green, and light green to get the ombre effect. I cut the sentiment with my Cricut and then coated it in Versamark and gold embossing powder. I attached it with liquid glue and then realized the first couple of letters were crooked. The glue was too dry to lift it and move, so crooked letters it is!

Stick It Down December Double Sketch- January Calendar page

Hi all! Can you believe it is almost 2017? I have completed my first calendar layout for the new year! I used this month's two page sketch from Stick It Down:

I was going to try to make all my photos circles and the center collage a circle, but it didn't work, so I used patterned paper to make the circles. I kept the layout pretty simple because there were so many photos. I used some glitter washi tape to line the top and bottom of the layout and I fussy cut some snowflakes from the patterned paper I used. To add some depth, I popped up a few of the snowflakes with foam tape or buttons. Journaling on vellum finished of the layout.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout and happy 2017!

Materials:
Cardstock- American Crafts
Patterned Paper- Fiskars, Moxxie
Washi Tape- Michael's
Buttons- Jesse James Co., Rusty Pickle
Vellum- Strathmore
Letter Stickers- Prima

December Card Round Up

Hello all! It certainly has been a while! I have been busy taking and editing pictures and working on a few projects for the holidays. I got a little bit of paper crafting done over the month, in the form of cards, which I am going to share today.

First up is an anniversary card. Their wedding colors were black and red, so I went with that theme, along with some silver, for the card.  I stamped the flowers with Versamark and then heat embossed them with silver powder. I used watercolor pencils to shade them and then spread the color with my Wink of Stella pen for some shimmer. I layered a piece of vellum over the background piece and stamped and heat embossed my sentiment.

I also made Christmas cards for my kids' teachers to go with the gifts we bought for them. First up is a set of cards I made using some white washed Core'dinations card stock and an embossing folder. After I embossed the pieces, I sanded the raised areas to make the color show through. I then went over the snowflakes with my Wink of Stella pen to give them some shimmer and pull off some of the paper dust. I punched a piece of vellum with snowflakes and layered a piece of ribbon and another piece of vellum with a sentiment stamped and heat embossed on it.

For my next card, I used alcohol inks and glossy cardstock for my background. I started by stamping with some Versamark and heat embossing a background stamp, but the embossing powder didn't really stick, so I didn't get the effect I was hoping for. I stamped and colored the snowmen with gel pens before fussy cutting them out. I used my Cricut to cut out the sentiment to finish of the card.

The last few cards were quick ones that involved the card cut function on "A Quilted Christmas" Cricut cartridge. I layered the cards over cardstock that I had brushed Glimmer Mist over for some shimmer. I finished off these cards with stamped and heat embossed sentiments.

Stick It Down December Card Sketch

Happy December 1st! I have a sketch and card to share today. Here is the December card sketch at Stick it Down:

For my card, I started with a kraft card base and used Versamark to stamp with a plaid background stamp. For the sentiment, I used a cut out piece from the Cosmo Cricket Just Add Watercolor pad. I stamped the house with black ink and hearts with pink ink. Then I went in with a brush and water and used some Stampin Up dye inks as watercolor to color in my stamping and make the sentiment resist and stand out. I sent this card to some friends who moved into their new home a couple of weeks ago.
