Happy Birthday card- Sketch Saturday

Hello, I have a new card to share today! I started with this sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I started by using a mask and brown ink spray for my background. I then cut the banner from patterned paper, I also cut the small square for the cupcake from cardstock. I stamped the cupcake and candle. I also stamped and fussy cut the sentiment banner. I edged all of the pieces with brown ink and attached them to my card front. I finished off the card with some buttons.

July 4th Fun

Hi all, I have another new layout to share! My kids are all in school now, so I hope to have more time to scrap during the week going forward.

I was inspired by a couple of challenges for this one. First up is the CSI challenge:

I was also inspired by the challenge at Lasting Memories with was to do a weaving technique. I started by finding patterned papers that matched the colors from the inspiration image. I then wove those strips together. Initially, i was going to have the weaving behind all the photos, but wanted mroe of the wood background paper to show, so I just used it as a mat for the two solo photos. I cut the title using the Cricut- once from red glitter cardstock and twice from white cardstock. I layered those up for dimension. I then found a red journaling spot and added that. It had cherries on it, which wasn't quite what I was going for, so I added a sticker over the cherries. I finished by embellishing the page with enamel dots, washi tape, a stamped tab, and a flair button.

Happy 4

Hello, I have a new layout to share! I started with this sketch from Rochelle Spears:

I used the sketch for my left hand page. For the pattern on the bottom half, I used patterned acetate. I placed a patterned paper strip across the top and then sewed it onto my cardstock background (using my sewing machine) to create pockets to hold the cards my son received at his party. I cut the large circle from patterned paper and adhered that to the front of the pocket. For the title, I used banner stickers and cut the "4" using my Cricut. I used some die cuts, an epoxy flair, enamel dots and puffy stickers to embellish my page. I realized as I was starting this post that I hadn't journaled on this layout! I ended up adding it to the green flag on the large circle.

I was also inspired by the Tic Tac Toe challenge from Scrap with Stacy:
I did the top row: stripes, banner, and enamel dots. Thanks for stopping by to check out my layout!

County Fair Fun

Hello, I have a layout to share today! I started with this fun collection I picked up recently as inspiration. It went so well with these photos of my kids at the county fair years ago, so I made a page for my daughter's book. I started by laying my photos out and trying to decide what looked best. Then I cut some patterned paper up to layer under the photos. Once that was all glued down, I found the "fun" sticker on the sticker sheet for the collection. I cut the words "County Fair" using my Cricut. I cut it once from the green patterned paper and then two more times from white cardstock and layered them up for dimension. I lost the dot to the "i" so I used a green pearl. I embellished the page with stickers, a canvas flair button, a wood button, and some puffy stickers. I hand wrote my journaling and added the date at the end with a date stamp. I entered this in the "English" back to school challenge at Paper Issues.

VBS

Hello all! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I had this large photo collage waiting to be scrapped, so I decided to use this sketch with it. This is a great sketch to use up scraps, which is what I did. I started with a collection and found a few papers to go with my photos. Then I realized I need more papers, so I started digging in my stash of scraps. There are several different manufacturers' papers on this layout! Once I had all my papers down, I added my photo collage. I used punch out letters for my title and adhered them with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension. I used some stickers and puffy stickers to embellish my page.

Family Love- Stick It Down

Hello! I have a new layout to share today! I started with this sketch from Stick It Down:

I started by brushing some shimmery watercolors over this cardstock with a flower resist. While that dried, I cut to the word "Family" using my Cricut. I attached my photo and title and then dug through my stash, looking for stickers and die cuts that coordinated with the colors of my background and photos.

This photo is from a professional session we had for our church directory. We also received 8 proofs from this session, so I used a divided pocket page to display them with the page above. Here is the first side:

And the second side. I used a few different patterned paper and cut them into 6x6 squares. To embellish each section I used a bunch of die cuts that coordinated with the colors.

Happiest Wishes

Hello all! I have a new card to share today! This one was inspired by a couple of challenges. First up is the card sketch from Stick It Down:

I was also inspired by the board at Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I used the bottom row from the chart: Alphabet, Birthday, and Enamel Dots. I started my card by stamping just the balloons from the Simon Says Stamp Happiest Wishes Stamp set with Versamark Ink on watercolor paper. Then I heat embossed them with black powder. I then used watercolors to paint the balloons different colors. While those dried, I stamped, heat embossed and painted the little puppy hanging from the green balloon on some scrap watercolor paper. I fussy cut that once it was dry and attached it to my card front with foam tape. I used some "enamel dots"- the big ones are melted Perler Beads and the small ones are leftover gems from Diamond Art. I then went through my stash and found number stickers that matched the colors of my balloons and added "5's" to some of the balloons since this is for my nephew's 5th birthday. I finished by attaching the panel to an orange card.
