SBC Fest Day 2

Hello, I'm back to share my day 2 projects from SBC Fest. I only did two of the classes that day, but I love the projects I made!

First up was Vicki Boutin's layout class. We did some inking on our background to make a place for our design to land. It was so fun to play with inks, water and bubble wrap to make the background for this! We also inked up another sheet of paper and used it to cut the butterflies. I used papers I already had in my stash (most of which were from Vicki Boutin's collections). I used more photos that Vicki, because that's what I do! 😄 I pulled out a set of die cuts that matched the colors I was already working with on here and used my Cricut to cut the title.

 Finally, there was Tiffany Solorio's tag class. She used Distress Stains, which I don't have, but I have lots of spray inks, so I just found colors I liked ( and still sprayed- some are clogged and I didn't feel like working to unclog them). I also used some stamps on the background that I don't use often. I will be trying to find ways to use them more in the future because I really like how they looked on here. I just love all the colors on this and it is super shimmery in person!

Christmas Tag

Hi all! I have a new project to share, this time it is a tag! I don't do tags often, but I made these to go in packages that were sent to my godchildren.

For the background, I started by stamping the stars in white ink (the tags are manilla, so off white). I heat embossed the stars with sparkle embossing powder. Then I used a blending brush and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and covered the background. I took a towel and wiped off the stars once I was done inking (the embossing resists the ink). I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. Finally, I cut the angels using my Cricut. I misted the blue and white layers with Perfect Pearls mixed with water for some shimmer (which you can't see in the photo. 

 I wrote the "to" and "from" on the back. I am entering this in the Bitten By the Bug 2 Any Holiday challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Another Card and a Tag

 We had a couple of celebrations this weekend that required cards. I had some fun playing on both of these...

First up is a Baptism card for our nephew. I started by cutting the grey outline piece using my Cricut and the "New Testament" cartridge (that cartridge has a ton of beautiful cross cuts). I covered the cut with Versamark and then sprinkled on silver embossing powder. I then attached it to a piece of watercolor paper and cut around it. I used Gelatos as water color by using a water brush and picking up the color directly from the stick and painting it on. After that dried, I was going to go over all of the "windows" with Glossy Accents, but started by covering the cross with Liquid Pearls. After I had finished that, I loved how it looked, so I left it. The background was stamped and then I added a piece of ribbon.

Next up is a tag I made to put on a wine bottle. The party was "skull and crossbone" themed and I had this grunge board one hanging out in my stash, so I decided to use it. I started by attaching it to a tag and covering the whole thing with gesso. After that dried, I sprayed it with Raven Glimmer Mist. I used a mask at the top to add some more texture. Once that dried, I stamped the "Happy" and rubbed some Versamark over the skull and then heat embossed it. I cut the "40" with my Cricut and then pressed in it Versamark and heat embossed it with gold powder. I attached the numbers with some foam adhesive. I wanted a little more texture and color on the skull, so I used some Picket Fence Distress Stain and covered it and then misted it with water to get it off the embossing. I added a strip of gold washi tape across the top and some ribbon to attach it to the bottle to finish it off.
