Birthday Card- Fusion

Hello! I have a new card to share today! For this card, I was inspired by the sketch and inspiration at Fusion:

I loved the chalkboard look of the inspiration picture, so I started with black cardstock. I dry embossed it with a polka dot embossing folder and then took a white ink pad and swiped that over the raised areas. I used Distress Oxide inks to stamp the cupcakes. I spritzed those with water to activate the ink and make it lighter. The sentiment was cut with the Cricut. I finished the card off with a piece of shimmery ribbon and some glitter glue.

Two More Cards...

I have another pair of cards made from the same sketch to share. This time I used this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday: 

First up is a sympathy card. I used some bits and pieces for this card. Patterned paper and an embossed piece of vellum are used for the background. I made the banners from various patterned papers. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed. A sticker arrow and glitter glue and liquid pearl spots finish off this card.

For my second card (a birthday card for my 21-year-old niece) uses a piece of patterned paper and foiled transparency for the background. I borrowed a set of stamps from my daughter for the feathers. The white one was stamped and fussy cut. The red one was already cut, and I just stamped on it with a feather with a similar size and shape.

Birthday and Anniversary Cards- Same Sketch!

It's that time of year where I am cranking out cards as fast as I can because our families have lots of birthdays and anniversaries. Sometimes that means I make a couple of identical cards, this time I made two with the same overall design, but different stamps and papers. I started with this sketch from CAS-ual Fridays:

Here are the two cards I made:

 
First up is a birthday card for my niece who turns 5 on Monday. I stamped and fussy cut the butterflies and used a dot of glue to attach them to my card front. For the sentiment, I stamped the colored circles first and let them dry. I ran my anti-static tool over it and then stamped in black, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The circle was attached with foam tape for dimension. I finished off the card with a bit of glitter glue on the butterfly bodies and a couple of ribbons across the bottom.

Next, I have an anniversary card that I made for my in-laws. I was inspired by this week's inspiration piece at Inspired by All the Little Things:

I was mostly inspired by the colors in this piece. Again I stamped the images and fussy cut them. For this card, I then pressed each circle onto a Versamark pad and then sprinkled it with clear glitter embossing powder. I popped up the heart for dimension.

52 Week Photography Challenge- Week 19

Hello! I am finally back with another installment of my weekly photography challenge! I am a few weeks behind again, and I only have one photo to share today. I'm hoping I can catch up this weekend!

The prompt for week 19 was "birds". I had the opportunity to go to the Arboretum yesterday and this family of geese was hanging out by the irises. They were pretty tame as they didn't seem bothered at all by the people walking by, including the 3 first grade boys with me.

June Calendar Page

Hello! I'm here to share my June calendar page and I even finished it early! I started with the two page sketch from Stick It Down:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch, but I split a few of the photos in two to get more on the layout. I used a 6x6 paper pad for the patterned paper pieces. After I attached them, I used my sewing machine to zig zag stitch over each seam. The rest of the page was embellished using stamps! I pulled out several flower stamps, stamped them on white cardstock and fussy cut them. The title was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed before being fussy cut. I attached some of the flowers with foam adhesive to give them some dimension. I finished the flowers off with Liquid Pearl centers.

Hello and Happy Friday! I have a new card to share today. I made a graduation card and an anniversary card with the same design. I used this week's image from The Card Concept for inspiration:

I started with a text print patterned paper. I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink to ink the paper. I did second generation stamping with Forest Moss ink for the leaves. I stamped the solid and outline images for the butterflies. I then used colored pencils to add details. I finished off the butterflies with a glitter pen. I wrapped the panel with twine and added a stamped sentiment. 

Birthday Party- Creative Scrappers #306

Hello all! I had some time to do a layout this week! I started with this sketch from Creative Scrappers:

I decided to go with bright colors to go with the bright background of the photos. Black cardstock made it all stand out. I fussy cut the two frames from a sheet of patterned paper, as well as the circle with the heart and the circle with the flower. I used my Cricut to cut the big star. I pulled some stickers and chipboard to embellish the page. I decided the page needed a little something yet and used my sewing machine to add a white frame to finish of the page.

I was also inspired by the new Add It Up challenge at Paper Issues. The challenge was to use the points on the chart below and create a layout that totaled more than 100 points. I had 4 photos for 20 points, 1 sheet of cardstock for 5 points, 3 sheets of patterned paper for 15 points, 1 cut file for 5 points, 2 inks for 10 points, 2 different alpha stickers for 10 points, 1 tag (3), journaling (5), 4 chipboard pieces (12), 2 stickers (4), the date (1), 5 enamel dots (5), stitching (10), and stamping (10) for a total of 125 points.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there today! I am sharing the card I made for my mom, mother-in-law, and my two grandmas (I made 4). I started with this inspiration image from Inspired by All the Little Things:

I started by stamping a wreath of flowers on my card front. I used my Cricut and the Holiday Cakes cartridge to cut the sentiment. To make the panel pop a bit more, I inked the edges with a light green color. The sentiment is attached with foam tape to give the card some dimension.

Butterfly cards

Hello! I hope you are having a great weekend so far! I am sharing a couple of cards I made this past week with a couple of different butterfly stamps that I own. 

First up is a thank you card that was inspired by the last Fusion Card Challenge: 

I stamped the butterflies with Versamark and heat embossed it with clear powder. I then took a paint brush and spread some spray inks that coordinated with my patterned paper over the butterflies. I mounted the patterned paper, stamped paper and a piece of ribbon on my card front. 

The second card I made this week was a sympathy card for our neighbors whose baby was born too early and passed away last week. :( I decided to go with soft colors and the baby was a boy, so I made the single butterfly blue to represent him.

Sketch Saturday- Happy Woof-day!

Hello! I'm back today to share a birthday card I made earlier this week. I started with this sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I used my Cricut to cut out the dog. I added some googly eyes to make it more fun. I cut the ovals from patterned paper. I decided everything needed more definition, so I inked the edges with black ink. I started with a blank piece of cardstock for the background, but decided it needed more so I used a background stamp and orange ink and then inked the edges in black.

I finished it off with a stamped and hand-written sentiment and some twine.

52 Week Photography Challenge- Week 18

Hi all! I'm getting to this late in the week, but better late than never, right? The prompt for week 18 was In Bloom. We have an ornamental crab apple tree in our backyard and I look forward to it blooming every spring and it is blooming this week! I got out last night and took some pictures of it.

Build a Bear

Hello and Happy (inter)National Scrapbooking Day! I hope you are having a good day and get some time to do something crafty. Unfortunately, we have a full day so there will most likely not be any crafting for me, which is typically the case. Why isn't National Scrapbooking Day in February or something, when there is nothing going on and it is gross outside? Anyway, I finished this layout this week and I wanted to share it. 

I started with the tic tac toe challenge at Scrap Our Stash for this:

I made my supply selections based on the left column. I used yellow in a few places, a journaling card for my journaling on the right page and more than three different patterned papers. I didn't have much for premade embellishments that when with the products I used or the theme, so I ended up using some pretty basic ones and cutting the cat face with my Cricut.
