Celebrate!- Mojo Monday #458

Hello all! I'm hopping on quick to share a card I made based on this past week's sketch at Mojo Monday:

I started by dry embossing the green background panel and then running some Picket Fence Distress Stain over it to highlight the texture. I also edged it with some brown ink. The glove and ball were cut with my Cricut and the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge. I added a few pieces of patterned paper and a stamped sentiment to finish off the front.

August Calendar Page

Hello! I hope you are having a great week! We've been busy with camp this week, but I had time to get my calendar page done for next month! I started with this sketch from Stick it Down:

This was another sketch that was a little outside my normal style, but I had fun playing with inks, stamps and banners! I started by splattering pink and turquoise inks on my background. I glued down some twine for my banners. I then stamped and fussy cut and punched the banner pieces from several pieces of patterned paper. The majority of the paper used on this layout was from a 6x6 pad, which worked out perfectly. To attach the banners, I used a combination of regular adhesive and foam adhesive to add dimension. I used my Cricut to cut the word "August" and stamped "awesome." For the journaling, I printed on white cardstock and then went over all of it with Twisted Citron Distress Stain. I love the variation in color that gave to the background!  I finished the page off by embellishing with some fussy cut circles, button and chipboard and a few stamped stars.

I was also inspired by the Pinspire me challenge at Paper Issues. This was the inspiration board:

I love the colors and I also even brought in the watermelon!

Mommy and Me

Hi all! Guess what? I made a SCRAPBOOK page! It has been a while! I started with this sketch from Scrapbooks and Cards Today:
SCT Sum2016 Bonus1

I used a Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pad, so I split up the columns on either side of the page with squares of patterned paper. I spread some gesso over the area that I was going to be attaching my photos. For the title, I die cut the letters using my Cricut and used a circle punch to punch a circle from a sheet of ampersand paper. I filled in the ampersand with glue and sprinkled glitter on it. I used a Simple Stories frame and some grid patterned paper to make my journaling box. I finished off my page by embellishing with stickers, chipboard, fussy cut shapes and sequins. The current issue at Paper Issues is "Gleam Catchers," so I incorporated lots of sparkle!

Happy Birthday- Sketch Saturday

Hello, happy Friday! I have one last card to share from my crazy month of card making. I started with this sketch from Sketch Saturday:

I started by stamping and heat embossing the big flowers with clear embossing powder. I used a water brush and some Distress Stains to color them and the background. I stamped and heated the sentiment on a punch piece of vellum. For the "confetti" I stamped and heat embossed some flowers and the number "30" because this was for a 30th birthday. I finished it off with some enamel dots and sequins.

Stick It Down July card sketch

Hello! I am here today to share the July card sketch at Stick it Down:

I made a masculine card this month using the sketch. I started with a white card base that I stamped with a plaid background stamp and red ink. I then used some kraft patterned paper for the background panel. I stamped the sentiment using an older Stampin' Up! set called "Riveted." The black and red were stamped and dried using my heat tool. I went over that with my anti-static tool and then stamped and heat embossed the outline and sentiment. I splattered gold and a coppery colored spray ink on the background for added interest.
Make sure you head over to the Stick It Down blog and see what the rest of the team did with the sketch!

Happy Birthday- CAS(E) this Sketch

Hello! I am back today with another card. I made this for my son who turned 6 yesterday. I started with this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I went for a jungle theme because part of my son's gift was to go to Wild Kratts Live a few months ago. I started by using a mask and Distress Stains to make the background. The patterned paper is from the Bella Blvd. Tiny Tots collection. I fussy cut the zebra from a sheet of patterned paper and attached it with foam adhesive to add some dimension. I finished off the front with a stamped sentiment.

Anniversary card

Hi all! I have a card to share today, that I made last week. I used last week's Sketch Saturday sketch:

I started by dry embossing and sanding some white washed Core-dinations cardstock. The flower was from another project and I worked with the color from that for the rest of the design. I stamped the plaid background and attached it to blue cardstock. I stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut the decorative bracket to go beside the main panel. I finished it off with some ribbon and a glitter enamel dot.

July Calendar Page

Hello! I'm finally here to share my calendar page this month! I was inspired by this layout by Laura Vegas on the Bella Blvd. blog a couple of months ago. Here is my interpretation:

I loved that this used all 4x6 or 3x4 images. That made filling in the gaps super easy! This layout came together pretty quickly because of it.

For the title, I used my Cricut and Sure Cuts a Lot to cut out my title. I love how it turned out and how it looks against the blue woodgrain background.

I used lots of stars on my page since July is the month of the stars and stripes.
